On macOS and Linux, the install script detects your platform, downloads the right build, and installs it. Windows users should use the installer below.

macOS
macOS — Apple Silicon and Intel
Open the downloaded .dmg and drag ZapMyFiles into Applications. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper will verify it and open it without security warnings. On first launch, macOS may note that the app was downloaded from the internet — click Open.
Not sure which build you need? Apple menu → About This Mac. If it says “Apple M1/M2/M3/M4”, choose Apple Silicon; if it says “Intel”, choose Intel.
Windows
Windows 10 and 11 — x64
Run the installer after downloading. Builds are code-signed. If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows a warning on a very new release — reputation for fresh releases builds over time — click More info, confirm the publisher signature is present, then Run anyway.
Linux
Linux — Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE
Install the .deb with sudo apt install ./zapmyfiles-latest-amd64.deb, or the .rpm with sudo dnf install ./zapmyfiles-latest-x86_64.rpm (or zypper on openSUSE). The install script above handles all of this automatically, including picking the right package manager.
Updates
On macOS and Windows, ZapMyFiles checks a static update feed about once an hour and asks before restarting to apply an update — nothing installs silently. On Linux, rerun the install script or install the latest package to update.
What you're installing
